The microphone portion of this headset is of such low quality that it is not usable for Skype or any other applications. It hangs low on one of the earphone cords, and your voice is not picked up by the mic. Even holding the mic right next to your mouth, it still doesn’t work very well. I bought the Sony headset to replace it, and the Sony brand one works great.
As another matter, the screen protector is great, easy to apply, and offers great scratch protection.
